Horse Stories

Horse Stories
Horse Stories began in Los Angeles, California in 2000, when Australian-born singer-songwriter Toby Burke met Texan drummer Clinton Stapleton. The two played many live shows together in Los Angeles and Stapleton joined in on recording Horse Stories debut Travelling Mercies (for Troubled Paths) in a friend’s converted garage, over the late winter of 2001… Their efforts were not wasted. Travelling Mercies, and the following Horse Stories album One Hundred Waves, repaid the faith of Horse Stories’ London label Loose Music - both given heaping praise by the British and European press… Their latest album, Everyone’s a Photographer is another bold, heartfelt statement from an artist that never seems to sit still. Again joined by Stapleton on drums, Burke also enlisted multi-instrumentalist Beth Balmer, and the three convened at the San Diego studio of Pall Jenkins in January of 2005 - to make an album that would free the band of any “singer-songwriter” limitations and offer this enigmatic group of musicians a chance to run free.
